The company specializes in high-temperature applications, operating multiple high-temperature furnaces at its state-of-the-art facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. They serve a variety of industries by providing carbonization, graphitization, and other high-temperature processing services for manufacturers of carbon, graphite, and ceramic parts, including components for aircraft and automotive braking systems, as well as solutions for green energy applications.
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will lead the development and execution of a new product line focused on carbon aircraft brakes in the aftermarket segment. This role is crucial for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical programs, and ensuring the successful market introduction of high-performance products. The TPM should have strong expertise in technical project management, aviation product development, and carbon composite materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to market launch, defining objectives, milestones, and timelines in collaboration with internal teams.
- Technical Management: Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop carbon aircraft brakes, manage technical risks, and ensure the manufacturability of new products.
- Project Management: Develop detailed project schedules, manage resources and budgets, and ensure the timely delivery of products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate between engineering, production, supply chain, and marketing teams to meet customer requirements and translate them into product specifications.
- Production Support: Provide technical expertise to address manufacturing challenges, improve production yields, and maintain process documentation.
- Supplier Management: Work with suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality production of raw materials and components, while negotiating contracts and managing relationships.
- Compliance and Certification: Ensure all products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, managing certification processes for aviation components.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and lean methodologies to enhance program efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing, with a focus on technical program management.
- Strong knowledge of carbon composite materials and aircraft braking systems, particularly in the aftermarket sector.
- Proven leadership experience in managing complex technical programs and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with industry certification processes and quality management systems.
