This position is responsible for developing and driving product strategy and direction that translates into high-value customer features for an assigned market segment. The Global Director of Engineering and PLM will meet customer needs by delivering innovative, market-driven solutions that position the organization as best-in-class and drive year-over-year sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Development:
    • Develop and implement product strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals.
    • Lead the NPD (New Product Development) process from ideation to launch.
    • Identify emerging market trends and opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to inform product decisions.
    • Define product roadmap and prioritize features based on customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch new products.
  • Engineering Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of engineers and product managers.
    • Set clear goals and expectations for the team.
    • Provide feedback and coaching to help team members develop their skills.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.
    • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Maintain a high level of customer intimacy through close relationships with the market.
    • Understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements.
    • Work with sales and marketing to deliver high-quality product collateral and messaging.
    • Drive product adoption and support post-launch success.
  • Metrics & Analysis:
    • Establish and track key metrics to measure the success of product initiatives.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
    • Present data and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Develop a strong understanding of the business and its financial objectives.
    • Make decisions that are aligned with the company's overall strategy.
    • Partner with other departments to achieve shared goals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business with an emphasis in Marketing or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in product management and marketing.
  • Demonstrated deep technical and leadership skills to engage a team of technical and creative experts.
  • Strong understanding of product and market trends in the assigned lines of business.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • International business experience in assigned markets.
  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (a plus).
