The Director of Sales is responsible for driving customer retention and developing new opportunities by cultivating strong relationships with new and existing customers. This role focuses on increasing sales volume, building profitability, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Director of Sales will implement effective sales strategies and contribute to the company’s growth in the commercial vehicle segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key customer roles, such as Parts Managers, Service Managers, and Executives, to drive customer loyalty and retention.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Create and execute a credible sales strategy for Aftermarket Sales and Marketing that aligns with company goals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Implement sales processes and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the sales team.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to network and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Product Promotion: Promote the current product line, introduce new products, and assist customers with promotional or service programs.
  • Regional Support: Assist regional customers by making sales calls with distributors and fleets, providing guidance on service, warranty, and new products.
  • Trade Show Participation: Represent the company at local, national, and regional trade shows to promote products and identify potential new distributors.
  • Brand Development: Contribute to brand development by effectively representing the company’s products, programs, capabilities, and partnerships.
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare and submit sales reports, including forecasts, territory business plans, and prospect forecasting.
  • Sales Execution: Implement sales strategies to achieve account sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Contract Negotiation: Manage customer contract negotiations and close agreements that maximize profitability.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and key areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop sales professionals to consistently meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to sales staff to ensure up-to-date product knowledge and effective sales techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to effectively promote the company’s products and services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience: 6-10 years of sales experience, with a preference for experience in heavy trucks and brake-related components.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Motivation and Drive: Highly motivated with a proven ability to achieve sales goals.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans to drive business growth.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of the commercial highway vehicle market.
